1½ oz Distiller’s Choice Peppermint Schnapps
3-5 oz prepared hot cocoa
whipped cream

 

 

A Lit Cocoa is a delicious treat throughout the colder months of the year and is very easy to make. Pour 1½ oz Schnapps into your favorite mug, fill with hot cocoa, leaving about a half inch of room for cream. Top with fresh whipped cream and sprinkle with cocoa powder. Made with fresh peppermint, our Distiller’s Choice Peppermint Schnapps is a local favorite! Find it in the Tasting Room, available seasonally.

2 oz Distiller’s Choice Slivovitz
1 oz Hibiscus Juice or Sweet Puree´
½ oz Simple Syrup
½ oz Lemon Juice

 

 

This deliciously tart and fruity cocktail is made with our newly released Distiller’s Choice Slivovitz Plum Brandy (available in the Tasting Room). To make, fill a pint glass with ice and add all ingredients. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist, basil, or hibiscus flower.

1½ oz Ottis Webber Oregon Wheat Whiskey
3 oz hot cider
Brown sugar & cinnamon whipped cream
Ground cardamom

 

 

Here’s a perfect and simple hot cocktail for cold winter evenings. Combine whiskey and hot apple cider in a mug and lightly stir. (If using instant cider, use ½ packet to 3 oz hot water.) Top with whipped cream whipped with brown sugar and cinnamon to taste. Sprinkle with ground cardamom and enjoy!

1 oz Distiller’s Choice Peppermint Schnapps
1 oz Oregon Spirit Vodka
Splash of Meadowland Peppermint Simple Syrup
Crushed peppermint candy for rim
Optional mint leaf and/or mini candy cane for garnish

 

 

For a Santa-approved, sweet, simple and refreshing holiday cocktail, try a Candy Cane Martini! Shake the schnapps, vodka and simple syrup with ice until the shaker tin is very cold to the touch. Strain into martini glass pre-prepped with a candy rim. A mini candy cane or mint leaf makes a great garnish. Our Distiller’s Choice Peppermint Schnapps is a holiday favorite of ours and many others, and is available seasonally in the Tasting Room. Happy holidays!

1½ oz Distiller’s Choice Slivovitz
1 oz lemon
1 oz lime
½ oz simple syrup
Sugar, cinnamon and clove for rim

 

Try our new Distiller’s Choice Slivovitz! Traditionally made in Central and Eastern Europe, we created our own version of this fine plum brandy using fresh plum juice from the Willamette Valley. Slivovitz is traditionally served straight but is also excellent for use in both hot and cold cocktails, especially during the holidays. To make the Czech Sidecar, add all ingredients into shaker tin with ice and shake until cold to the touch. Strain into a chilled martini glass rimmed with a mix of sugar, cinnamon and clove. Add lemon or lime wedge for garnish.

1½ oz CW Irwin Straight Bourbon Whiskey
1 scoop Bonta Wild Card Absinthe Fudge Gelato
½ oz Wild Card Absinthe
Club Soda

 

 

Two classics join forces for this tasty treat — the Sazerac and the old time soda fountain milk shake. To prepare, muddle CW and gelato in a pint glass or shaker tin. Then separately fill a Collins glass with ice and pour absinthe over. Add muddled CW and gelato and top with club soda. Garnish with chocolate if desired.

The delicious gelato used for this recipe is one of Oregon Spirit Distillers’ collaborations with Bontà Natural Artisan Gelato, made locally in Bend, Oregon. Be sure to check them out!

Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly! If you haven’t decided what cocktails you’ll be serving or enjoying, I’ll suggest a great duo. Both cocktails are approachable, and a hint of Distiller’s Choice Blackberry Cordial brightens up both of these classic cocktails. A mildly sweet martini was selected for the lady’s cocktail and a slightly higher proof Manhattan for the gentleman’s cocktail. Both drinks are phenomenal served up, but if preferred they’re also great on the rocks.

His Cocktail:
Blackberry Manhattan
2 oz C.W. Irwin Bourbon
1 oz Distillers Choice Blackberry Cordial
1-2 Dashes Bitters

Combine all ingredients in shaker tin. Add ice and stir gently until well mixed. Strain into a martini or coupe glass. Garnish with skewer of blackberries.

Her Cocktail:
French Kiss
1 1/2 oz Oregon Spirit Vodka
1 oz Distiller’s Choice Blackberry Cordial
3/4 oz Pineapple Juice

Combine all ingredients in shaker tin. Add ice and shake vigorously until cold to touch. Strain into martini or coupe glass. Garnish with a skewer of blackberries.

2 oz OSD Distiller’s Choice Dry Gin
3-4 drops Wild Card Absinthe
1/2 oz Cherry Simple Syrup
Champagne
Lemon Twist for Garnish

 

To make a great New Years cocktail, begin with a clean shaker tin full of ice. Add Dry Gin, Wild Card and Cherry Simple Syrup, then shake until tin is cold to the touch. Strain into a coupe glass and top with champagne. Garnish with lemon twist.

Absinthe Sour

 

1½ oz Wild Card Absinthe
3⁄4 oz Simple Syrup
Juice from 1⁄2 a lemon
3⁄4 oz Egg White

To make the Absinthe Sour, fill cocktail shaker with ice, add all ingredients, and shake vigorously. Shake very hard to get the ingredients to emulsify and form a layer of foam on top of the cocktail. Strain into a chilled Old Fashioned glass.

Sparkling Wild Sazerac

 

1/2 oz Wild Card Absinthe
2 oz C.W. Irwin Bourbon
1 Sugar Cube
2 Dashes Bitters
Soda Water
Lemon Twist

For a tasty variation of a traditional sazerac, pour Wild Card, C.W. Irwin Bourbon, sugar cube and bitters in a rocks glass and muddle well. Fill glass with ice. Top with small amount of soda water and stir. Add lemon twist for garnish.
